A new yogurt range with zany packaging has become something of a sensation in Lanzhou — capital of China's Northwest Gansu province — drawing crowds of eager shoppers to dairy sections in supermarkets across the city.
Jointly launched by the Gansu Provincial Museum and Lanzhou Zhuangyuan Pasture Co, the innovative product has quickly gained popularity for its creative packaging and unusual local flavors such as potato, Sichuan pepper and apple.
The yogurt features a high-quality matte outer package with a delicate texture, printed with iconic patterns from the Gansu Provincial Museum.
The adorable cartoon images of local agricultural products are highly appealing to customers. Each flavor is also distinguished by a special theme color: warm earth yellow for potato, bright red for apple, and elegant purple for pepper, making the products highly visible on the shelves.

According to supermarket staff, the yogurt has been selling well since its launch, often requiring restocking on weekends due to high demand.
Its success is said to mark a step forwards in Lanzhou's effort to mix culture with innovation — combining local ingredients with cultural IP and enhancing both packaging and flavors.
Looking ahead, Lanzhou is poised to develop more culturally linked, aesthetically pleasing and practical products through cross-sector collaborations, helping the stories of the Yellow River and the Silk Road reach broader audiences in more enterprising and vivid forms.
