Zhang Gengsheng, former vice-president of China Construction Bank, has been charged with suspected bribery and illegal loan issuance, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Monday.

The National Supervisory Commission concluded the investigation of the case recently, and the SPP has designated Zibo People's Procuratorate in Shandong province for prosecution.

The prosecution charged that Zhang used his position to secure benefits for certain organizations and individuals, accepting substantial bribes in return. Additionally, as a bank employee, Zhang is accused of violating state regulations by issuing loans illegally, resulting in significant financial losses. He is to be held criminally accountable for bribery and illegal loan issuance.

Public records indicate that Zhang, 65, hailing from Anhui province, worked at the bank for over a decade and was appointed vice-president in 2013.
