The Republic of Korea will transfer the remains of 30 Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs who died during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53) and their related relics to China on Friday, according to a report by China Media Group on Monday.

The handover was decided based on a recent agreement between China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the ROK's Ministry of National Defense, it said.

Previously, following international law and humanitarian principles, China and the ROK have conducted 11 transfers from 2014 to 2024, involving the remains of 981 Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs and related relics.

This year marks the 12th transfer under the consensus reached between the two countries.

China and the ROK will continue to cooperate in the transfer of the remains of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs, according to the report.
